The Stop the Bleed campaign is a national initiative to increase awareness of the need for immediate response to injuries causing massive blood loss following mass casualty incidents. While none of us want to focus on the risk of an active shooter situation in our schools or communities, the reality is that we must be prepared for potential of these types of incidents. Additionally, having the “Stop the Bleed” kits in place will assist with increased preparedness in the event of a natural disaster or other traumatic event in the school setting.

The Bleeding Control Stations that have been purchased include 5 bleeding control kits, consisting of a C-A-T tourniquet, clot encouraging bandages, gloves, trauma shears and instructions for use. Additionally, training kits, which can be used to train staff members and students on the use of the materials.
